Dear Readers,

I came to a decision this past week that I will no longer continue with this blog. I started it out with the intention of getting a real live domain name and making a little extra money on the side. I had grandiose ideas of helping others to get started with couponing and realize the same savings that I have for so long. I apparently have already accomplished the latter according to the many emails and comments I have received through this blog and Facebook.

I came to this decision after the realization that, quite  frankly, I was neglecting far more important things in my life in order to blog. I have better ways to spend my evenings than be glued to a computer screen searching for the best printables for that week’s shopping list. On Wednesdays, I would come home from my full-time job and immediately start working on the shopping list, which I usually don’t finish until 9 or 10pm. I could be doing other things that I really enjoy–like playing with my daughter or spending quality time with my husband.

Many of you have told me how much you count on my weekly list and I apologize for leaving you hanging like this. Hopefully one of you will pick up where I left off (and if you do, feel free to leave a note in the comments letting us know where to find you).

6/9: $8.50 for $56.48 in Publix Groceries June 8, 2011

For today, you’ll have to prepare a little bit. There should be a new coupon booklet at your store called the Summer Storm Savings Guide with a bunch of store coupons inside. Ask about it at customer service if you don’t see it. You might have registered for it from the ConAgra website a while back, so check your mailbox. Finally, if you can’t get your hands on it, give ConAgra a call—rumor has it that they’re still taking requests for it, but I doubt you’ll receive it in time for this week’s sale.

Besides the Publix coupons in the booklet, there should also be a Mail-in Rebate (MIR) for a $20 Publix Gift Card when you purchase $50 of Publix groceries including $25 worth of participating ConAgra products in one trip. This total is before coupons. I’ve made note of the items that count toward the ConAgra rebate below this week’s table. When completing your shopping list, remember to include a back-up plan in case a certain item on your list is sold out.

This week’s list includes $56.48 worth of Publix groceries for only $8.50, a savings of about 85%! The average retail price of each item is $2.35; you’ll be getting them at an average price of $0.35 each!
